Eco 3 Grocery | Duluth, MN
The Challenge
The Eco3 Grocery Store project focused on renovating an older building into a modern, community-focused grocery store. During demolition, it was discovered that portions of the existing interior storefront frames were structurally supporting the building and could not be removed as planned. This unexpected condition required a revised approach that preserved structural integrity while still achieving a refreshed storefront appearance.
Our Solution
St. Germain’s Glass collaborated closely with the Owner, Architect, and Construction Manager to develop a practical, field-driven solution. Our team reused the existing structural frames and integrated new doors and glass to create two updated glazed aluminum storefront entrances. This approach allowed the project to move forward efficiently while maintaining both safety requirements and the intended design aesthetic.
Results Accomplished
The completed storefront delivers a bright, welcoming entry that enhances visibility, accessibility, and curb appeal for the new grocery store. By reusing critical structural elements, the project avoided costly delays and redesign, allowing Eco3 to open with a clean, modern look built on a sound foundation.
